Cate Twining-Ward was born in Australia and grew up in Samoa, New York City, and Denmark. She holds a Master’s in Public Administration and Environmental Science and Policy from Columbia University and a Bachelor’s degree in Sustainability and Environmental Studies. She has worked previously at the United Nations Headquarters on the Sustainable Development Team at the Office of the President of the General Assembly and for several NGOs in Sierra Leone, Uganda, and Rwanda. Cate is also a writer; her work has appeared in the New York Times, Los Angeles Times, Huffington Post, and in various environmental newspapers and media outlets. She is an avid photographer and traveler.
