Dr Delton Chen introduces the concept of money based on its four essential functions, and the money flower for modern monetary system. He describes the policy “landscape” for addressing climate change problem. He then explains how carbon pricing operates in terms of neoclassical economic theory, and he identifies a new policy option that is not considered in standard economics. He briefly mentions the shortcomings of blockchains and of central banks when addressing the climate crisis.
