NORD/LB Capital Market Conference
Hanover, Germany | 27-28 August, 2024
Welcome to our contribution to the NORD/LB Capital Markets Conference. This conference is about a Mission: (Im)Possible, as we are currently facing major challenges, such as climate change.
The Norddeutsche Landesbank -Girozentrale (Nord/LB) is a state bank of Germany with assets of 97.5 billion euros according to their 2022 annual report. Nord/LB was the 13th largest bank in Germany at the end of 2020. The bank has its headquarters in the cities of Hanover, Braunschweig and Magdeburg; and their administrative building in Hanover was opened in 2002 on Friedrichswall (see photo left/above).
The Nord/LB capital markets conference was held at the Herrenhausen Palace: the former residence of the Electors and Kings of Hanover in the Herrenhausen district of Hanover. The classicist three-wing complex was built between 1819 and 1821 by King George IV by Georg Ludwig Friedrich Laves. After its destruction in 1943, the palace was rebuilt between 2011 and 2013. Since then, it has served as a conference center and the Herrenhausen Palace Museum (see photo right/below).
