About the Event:

Learn about the systemic risks associated with the carbon cycle and climate change, and discover a revolutionary financial mechanism designed to finance climate mitigation projects on a global scale.

In-depth analysis:

Dr Chen will delve into a new economic theory that addresses market failures in carbon pricing and introduces a ‘carrot and stick’ approach, combining elements of taxes, subsidies, and cap-and-trade systems with a novel market-and-monetary policy called a ‘carbon reward’.

The carbon reward is an innovative financial mechanism that incentivizes carbon mitigation efforts by rewarding organizations for carbon reductions and removals, and it will be financed with the support of central banks and involving a new type of tradable financial asset.

Dr Chen will be joined by Simon Redfern, CEO of TESOBE, and Sven von Vittorelli, Global Nature & Biodiversity Lead at AFRY.
