Dr Claire Nelson

Claire Nelson is a futurist and sustainability engineer. She is listed on Forbes as one of the Top 50 Female Futurists in the world. She helps organisations and people see the future more clearly, and she helps map their journey to a future they want. Claire is a storyteller and keynote speaker. She pioneered development equity at the Inter-American Development Bank in renewable energy, stock exchange development, health care, IP and privatisation across the Caribbean and Latin America. She established the Institute of Caribbean Studies, and she established an Annual Congressional Forum on Capitol Hill on US/Caribbean relations, and started a White House Briefing for the Caribbean American Community in 1999. Commended in the US Congressional Record as a leader and the architect of the National Caribbean American Heritage Month each June.

Dr Julien Leyre

Julien Leyre is a French-Australian writer, educator, and governance innovator. He is co-author of the upcoming book "How to Rule a World: A Guide to the Established and Emerging Tools for Power and Governance in the 21st Century” and co-founder of the Future of Governance Agency (FOGA). He is also a member of isgood.ai  Solutions for Humanity, a Melbourne-based cooperative developing an AI platform enabling for-purpose companies and NGO’s to better understand their impact and outcomes. He was previously the editor-in-chief at the Global Challenges Foundation where he developed and curated quarterly publications on global risks and governance. Previous to this, he founded the Marco Polo Project, a Melbourne-based charity reinventing social work for global communities, with particular focus on China. Julien is an alumnus of Paris-Sorbonne University and Ecole Normale Supérieure, and recently completed a PhD with Monash University exploring digital Chinese language education as a distributed global public good in the making. He was listed on the Victorian Multicultural Honour Roll in 2016 and awarded the title of New Australian of the Year in 2017.

Joël van der Beek

Joël van der Beek helped establish the Global Carbon Reward Initiative in 2013. Joël studied economics at the Erasmus University in Rotterdam, specialising in development and international economics. He is founder of EconoVision, an economics consultancy, and co-founder of EconoLytics, a data analyst contracting platform. His expertise is in socio-economic feasibility studies, cost-benefit analyses, public-private partnership, pricing and risk analysis, applied in transport, infrastructure and built environment. Joël has published on various themes: transport and trade policies, planning of national transport infrastructure, economic processes in spatial and town planning, rail infrastructure, maritime economics, UN peacekeeping missions, and pricing of global climate risk. He has worked in more than 30 different countries. has been active in the fields of Economics and Finance research for more than 20 years. Joël is passionate about using economics to benefit mankind and to create a sustainable future. Joël is on the board of Economists for Peace and Security.

Jonathan Cloud

Jonathan Cloud helped establish the Global Carbon Reward initiative in 2014.  Jonathan holds a master’s degree in sociology from York University in Toronto and a bachelor’s degree in psychology and sociology with honours from Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand. Jonathan is the Executive Director of Possible Planet, a 501(c)(3) non-profit, and is a renewable energy expert. Jonathan has worked on sustainable development in municipalities, communities, and businesses for more than 40 years. He has worked for the Canadian Government on energy and environmental issues. He ran a solar design and construction firm pioneering green building techniques and other sustainability projects in Canada and the United States. In New Jersey, Jonathan has developed legislation regarding small hydro, co-led the state’s first energy aggregation programs, and continues to champion Property Assessed Clean Energy (PACE) in the legislature. Jonathan is the recipient of a UN Environment Medal and was Senior Fellow at the Institute for Sustainable Enterprise, Fairleigh Dickinson University, 2005-2016.
