Overview

The Global Carbon Reward (GCR) is a non-profit project advancing a breakthrough international climate policy with the scope to deliver the goals of the Paris Agreement. The Carbon Reward policy works by rewarding verified climate mitigation with a new financial instrument — the XCR — rather than penalising emitters. It is designed to close the multi-trillion-dollar climate finance gap and mobilise private and public capital at the speed and scale the climate crisis demands.

We are now in the Foundation Stage of a four-year Carbon Reward Assessment and Engagement Program, and we are building a diverse global network of Associates to help us advance the policy, expand our reach, and attract the funding and partnerships the program needs.

If you are passionate about solving the climate crisis and would like to lend your voice, expertise, or networks to this effort, we warmly invite you to apply. Associates may be individuals or organisations of any kind — including academic institutions, think tanks, corporations, civil society organisations, and government bodies.

About the Associate Role

GCR Associates are collaborators who believe in the potential of the Carbon Reward policy and are willing to support its advancement in ways that suit their own capacity and context. The role is flexible by design: there are no fixed deliverables, and time commitments are agreed individually.

Associates are expected to contribute in one or more of the following ways:

Review and engage with the policy: read the Carbon Reward working paper, provide feedback, and stay informed about the program’s development

Promote the policy: share the GCR’s work within their professional networks, at conferences, in publications, or through social media and other channels

Expand our network: make introductions to relevant individuals, institutions, funders, and policymakers who could support or benefit from the program

Support fundraising: where appropriate, assist with identifying philanthropic, institutional, or grant funding opportunities, or make introductions to potential funders

Provide expert input: offer occasional advice or peer review in areas of professional expertise, as capacity allows

Associate status may be declared publicly — for example, on a CV, institutional website, or professional profile — or held privately, according to the preference of the individual or organisation.
